Nelson's Victory - Trafalgar Bicentenary & Oak from HMS Victory

Original HMS Victory Timber For Use in Your Own Design

21st October 2005 marked the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Nelson’s historic victory over the combined French and Spanish fleet made him and his ship HMS Victory World famous.

Years Later in 1923 the ship underwent a re-fit and during this time a quantity of timber was removed and replaced. This material languished in storage for many years until now.

This is your chance to commission a very special item of furniture or display piece made with timber recovered from the most famous flagship of all time, HMS Victory.

The quantity of useable timber is limited and the pieces are often odd shapes so whilst it isn’t really possible to consider making a whole dining table from it you may like to have a panel inlayed with Victory oak, or how about oak fronted drawers on your favourite desk.

If your nautically led then consider your boat’s compass mounted on a piece of HMS Victory oak so that once again the timber can feel at home on the sea!

All articles made using Victory oak will also come with a certificate verifying the authenticity and provenance of the timber, signed by the commanding officer of HMS Victory.

Limited Edition - Nelson's Victory Writing Slope

A limited edition of 20 writing slopes are being made by Rutland Woodcraft's Alick Burt in celebration of Nelson's Victory at Trafalgar in 1805. Their construction includes timber actually taken from HMS Victory.
